I never imagined I could go “so far”, yet my first trip and my first dives out of Egypt and the Red Sea were right in the far Indian Ocean when I decided to accompany a friend on a trip to Krabi, In Thailand.
Still bewitched by air travel, albeit along, connecting in Doha, with the Quatar Airways, we arrived at the Bamboo Sunset Resort, a really cozy B&B managed by a friendly Italian Muay Thai Instructor at the village gym.
In a week I had the pleasure of feeling new flavors, new smells, but especially seeing new colors of another sea, albeit shocked by the tsunami, which after many years still carries scars.
I can only imagine how it was before the great devastation, since it was amazing in my eyes as I saw it.
For me that I’ve come from years in the Red Sea, seeing giant sea stars, small “lemon” nudibranch and be surrounded by millions of yellow fusiliers was a unique experience thanks to Aqua Vision diving guides with which we were diving.
Magical places, felucca that lead to other beaches, greenery and vegetation around, magnificent islands, waters full of life, nice and gentle people: this is my experience in Krabi.
A single trip, a dozen days spent in that terrestrial paradise, was not enough to be satisfied and to say that I had known that place.
Within me I have the desire to go back because there is much more to see and other emotions to live.

Mai avrei immaginato di poter andare “cosi lontano”, eppure il mio primo viaggio e le mie prime immersioni fuori dall’Egitto e dal Mar Rosso sono proprio state nel lontano Oceano Indiano, quando ho deciso di accompagnare un amico in un viaggio a Krabi, in Thailandia.
Ancora estasiata dal viaggio aereo, seppur lungo, con scalo a Doha, della Quatar Airways, siamo arrivati al Bamboo Sunset Resort, un piccolo B&B davvero accogliente gestito da un simpatico italiano Istruttore di Muay Thai nella palestra del villaggio.
In una settimana ho avuto il piacere di sentire nuovi sapori , nuovi odori, ma soprattutto vedere nuovi colori di un altro mare, seppur sconvolto dallo tsunami, del quale dopo tanti anni porta ancora le cicatrici.
Posso solo minimamente immaginare come fosse prima della grande devastazione, dato che ai miei occhi è stato stupendo cosi come l’ho visto.
Per me che vengo da anni di Mar Rosso, vedere stelle marine giganti, piccoli nudibranchi color limone e essere circondata da milioni di fucilieri gialli è stata un’esperienza unica, grazie anche alle guide del diving Aqua Vision con cui ci siamo immersi.
Posti magici, feluche che portano in altre spiagge, verde e vegetazione intorno, isole magnifiche, acque piene di vita, persone semplici e gentili: questa la mia esperienza a Krabi.
Un solo viaggio, una decina di giorni trascorsi in quel paradiso terrestre non mi sono bastati per essere soddisfatta e per dire di aver conosciuto quel luogo.
Dentro mi resta il desiderio di tornare perché c’è molto altro da vedere e altre emozioni da vivere.
