I never strongly desired to go to Cairo, I’ve never had this curiosity ..
but now I know what I was missing !!
Wonder among the lights!
No one can expect luxury and “cleaning” of the great urban cities, instead you can try to take it as an adventure, almost in another era, especially when visiting the downtown, and the oldest part ..
The feeling is a bit that like being in an Indiana Jones movie riding a horse in the dust and sand, with the camera in your hand instead of the whip, searching for mysteries.
Few foreign tourists unfortunately.
If you are expecting a modern and efficient city then go to the new part, there you will feel almost at home, and if you miss something, you can always go to Cairo Festival City Mall.
I open the window of my apartment, I do almost a dozen steps, and I look out from the terrace to the city, the bright lights of Cairo!
And here I am !!

Non ho mai desiderato fortemente andare al Cairo, non avevo questa curiosità..
ma ora so cosa mi stavo perdendo!!
Meraviglia tra le luci!
Non ci si può aspettare il lusso e la “pulizia” delle grandi città urbanizzate, invece si può cercare di prenderla come un’avventura, quasi in un altra epoca, soprattutto quando si visita la downtown e la parte più antica..
La sensazione è un po’ quella di essere in un film di Indiana Jones in sella a un cavallo, tra la polvere e la sabbia, con la reflex in mano al posto del frustino, in cerca di misteri.
Pochi turisti stranieri purtroppo.
Se vi aspettate una città moderna ed efficiente allora andate verso la parte nuova, lì vi sentirete quasi a casa vostra, e se vi manca qualcosa, potete sempre andare al Cairo Festival City Mall.
Apro la finestra del mio appartamento, faccio quasi una decina di passi e mi affaccio dal terrazzo sulla città, sulle mille luci del Cairo!
Ed eccomi qui!!
